Came across your site when I clicked on the `Random` link on the Epic Proportions Webring on my site. Haven`t really had time to go through it all but will return to take a look at your novels and stories. I checked out your music links and was pleased to see Havergal Brian mentioned - he was born in Stoke -on-Trent. I remember seeing a performance of the Gothic Symphony at the Victoria Hall in Hanley around 1977/78 - an awesome piece of music.

I haven't had much time to explore this page (it is very late). Have bookmarked it for later perusal. Listened to part of the 1st Symphony. I didn't find it much to my liking, but you have indicated that short excerpts don't convey the richness and structure of the music. I don't connect at all with the idea of past lives. We have but one physical time on Earth. We then live with our Father in Paradise.

I read the biography with interest. It is disappointing when one is excluded from a group for holding what they believe are stronger views. However, if those views become threatening in any way, sometimes seeking a common ground where ideas can be exchanged within some "ground rules" can be far more productive and positive than withdrawal. This action reminds me of many of Peter Warlock/Philip Heseltine Unfortunately, they may have been his undoing, although undoubtedly much of his music (especially the songs) derived so directly from his belief in only himself and a chosen mentor (originally Delius, later Van Dieren). Enough for now. I will come back to view the pages in more detail again.

Im writing tonal music, in my on style ofcourse, which is influenced by Bruckner, Mahler, Schubert and espacially Bartok. I´ve written Symphonies, Piano Works and Chamber Musik.

I am very happy to see, that there are other people who write real music from their heart. I´ve listened to a few samples and see that you are on the same track than me ... the right track i think, which will lead to the music of futere.

To: Phil Goddard. Please forward if I have mis-addressed this.

Hello, Phil. You won't remember me, but I remember you from the old Harrow Weald days!! I remember you in the A-level Botany class (Mrs S G Thomas - remember?) I was doing my third year in the sixth (exam. failure, oh dear)and I fancy you were then in the lower sixth. The closes we came was when we both competed in the MILE WALK. I seem to remember that we all started off in lanes, but had then to move towards the inside lane as we spread out. You, dear boy, stuck doggedly in the outside lane and, as the circumferance of your circle was greater than that of the rest of us you gradually dropped back. The mile walk was the only thing I was any good at, and I won that race. Wonderful moment of glory!
I'd love to hear of your life since those days.
Yours
John (Ward)

I maide a searche for my grandfather, Eivind Groven, and came to your place. I did really like very muche what you have written about Draumkvæde.

I was little when grandfather died, about 8 years old. But I remember him very well. He was a very speciall and warm person, we all loved him and his beautifull music a lot.

It was really bad that he the last 15. years had this parkinson illnes. He was so fast in his braine, but his body did not answer him. He just had to do everything very slow. On the top he was not taken very good care of in the Norwegian musicmileu. Anyway, I am happy that he got to do as muche as he did. But it costed him a lot!

I haven't explored this site yet as of this writing... So I can't say exactly what to comment. But don't worry, I am not one to criticize... Initially, it's quite cool and "very friendly." It doesn't take that long to load the pages... Maybe some other time when I visit this site again, I might give a some comment or to. I came about this site because I was looking for some places to share some of my poetries... You know, having it published on line and have that feeling that "my work has been made public." Well, kind of childish of me... but that is what I was hoping for. And also to get in touch with other "poets" out there and share, maybe some ideas and all that stuff... So keep up the good work and I'll be visiting often to see how everything's going... VJAKE
