Ben Curtis, England/Spain - www.benjamincurtis.com
A link to here on my website: yes
Comments: I was wondering firstly why all the images on your site link to .zip files. And secondly, I have been visiting Morwenstow for years, and will be this week. I'm really very excited about it, as I live in Spain now and am shortly marrying a spick.
Will you link to my site? I am a photographer.
Thankyou so much,
Ben
The image files Ben refers to are those on one of my pages, which are optimized for use as Windows desktop wallpaper. They are in .bmp format, which isn't compressed like the normal .jpg or .gif files used in web images; I'd therefore zipped them to make them quicker to download. Regarding a reciprocal link, my policy on this is expounded in this site's General Notes page. -- Philip

Bruce Ward, Adelaide, Australia
Main interest in this site: Music
How this site was located: Searching for info to assist in developing a realistic pipe organ emulation using computer/soundcard
Comments: Twenty years ago I spent some designing an electronic pipe organ emulation using wavetable synthesis (at a time when 1KB EPROM's were the state of the art). The complexity and cost beat me.

I have maintained a watching brief on the development of wavetable synthesis over the intervening period but professional and family commitments have meant that I ahve not dipped my toe back full scale development.

The time has come to have a go - I have been encouraged by a number of the things I have found on websites not the least being yours.

I would like to learn more about your particular setup as it relates to organs but will dig deeper before troubling you with s[ecific questions

Many thanks
Bruce

Comments: Just passing through again. I don't seem to have picked you up hitching recently, but fate's purpose is rarely easy to construe. What is the meaning of your mysterious presence in St Thomas every Thursday morning? I often see you there on my way to work. I will appear soon, it is a promise.

Love Peter

Peter is an old friend of mine, who I currently don't see often because he lives rather 'out in the sticks'. My first encounter with him was in Guildford in 1971 when he answered an ad of mine for items for sale, and, through his various friends and connections, the commencement of that friendship marked a turning point in my life, setting the direction to where I am today - though our moves to different parts of the Exeter area were at different times and completely independent. -- Philip

Jo's message, while one that I heartily concur with, was too long to be in such a visitors' book, which in any case wasn't quite the right place for it. I compromised by linking to it here, but subsequently removed it as it was a topical message which became out of date. -- Philip

Comments: It was very nice to hear your music. I don't know if you "found your personal voice" or not, but your music did remind me a lot of Shostakovich, Prokofiev, and countless Hollywood scores. The tritone harmonic motion in your sixth symphony is very tiresome, and has been done to death. But it is pretty, and a very good midi realization.

My field is psychology, but as a christian mystic, i've been researching the origins of the words 'breath/soul/spirit/mind' from a Theological, Psychological and Physics point of view, and am at present writing a thesis on what i call Trinitarian Meditation, a simple form of meditation which involves the Lords Prayer. Another interest is the existing correlation between Theology and Physics - God said 'let there be light' and the Big Bang happened...... still writing on it.

How this site was located: search engine query
Comments: Hi, although from Dawlish i am now in Canada, have been for the last year, things have changed for me quite alot in the last two years and i ahve come to realise that the spritual side of me is the path i need to take, i needed to leave england i guess to find this out, a journey i had to take, infact one which i knew from a spiritual side i had to do, i feel now that the way i should spend the rest of my life is doing this work, i think i'm clairvoyant and clairsensitive, my question(if you would answer would be great) is how and where next, i guess becouse of my inexperince i'm confused and must admit a bit scared, should i come back to england or stay here? anyway thanks for your time, regards, ian dixon. ps do you know jenny gardener or marina francis from dawlish and teignmouth, they are both my friends.

Subsequent correspondence has shown that Ian is one of many people who are currently in the process of bringing into realization their underlying life task as spiritual teachers and healers outside named paths, who are using the sharing of aspects of their own (often difficult) life experience as the core of their method. Such people often start off without much contact or support from other spiritually open people, suffering various problems caused at least in part by their not recognising or using the healing energy which is channelling into them. Typically they come to a point where they feel confused and afraid about their further life direction - and this is where they seek out supportive input from particular healers who perceive the wonderful process that is occurring and can assist them in setting out to fulfil their life task as healers and teachers as part of their own journey towards full enlightenment. - Philip

Just thinking of You

Watching whitecaps roll into the ocean of blue. With a smile on my face just thinking of you.
The sweet memories, the tender moments we've shared. They caress me like the soft breeze that fills the air.
The loving feeling I get when I hold your hand. The summer night when we walked in the sand.
Waves splashing on the rocks along the shoreline. Brings tears to my eyes knowing that your mine.
Sharing a love like ours my happy heart sighs. Watching the violet clouds carelessly floating by.

dear philip,
much as i appreciate yr honesty,i must also admit dat almost all suffer in life as much as u did,ur lucky u found a way out of this abyss or atleast have a clear perspective of life.i feel allof us live similarly but r still lost with respect to life.i love yr faith atleast u still hv it.i appreciate and admire yr perspective on life, god humanity and religiona nd the fact dat minus dat too ur u.

Fortunately I'm not competing with anyone for the degree of my own past suffering! Yes, there are many, many people out there who suffer - no doubt many who suffer more than I've done (if one could indeed measure such a thing). One thing that I learnt from my own experience and observation of others was that for many the suffering is compounded by a sense of isolation and lack of truly aware support or pointers to their most appropriate and effective means of freeing themselves and opening up their lives. The personal details on this site are given as a contribution to filling that need for whoever can use the information. -- Philip

Just a test entry to see if it works, but of course it's all good stuff Philip! I've probably visited this site (or tried to) about 10 times i the last 3 weeks.
Best wishes as always, R.

Hey,
My name is Rose I'm 15 years old and I'm a Goddard. I wanted to find some stuff about other people who share this last name and to maybe find some long lost relative or something!! I saw that you write poetry....I really like poetry!! Lately I have been reading alot of it online. I read a few of your poems and really liked what I heard. It's nice to know there's a Goddard out there who is spiritual and creative! Most of the Goddards I know and don't give meaning to very much and probobly don't even know what poetry is let alone ever read any! I'm really looking forward to reading more of your poems and stories....and getting to know a fellow Goddard a little better!

We appear, from an initial "gaze," to have been on similar spiritual paths. Thanks for the personal sharing. I have respect for your experience and your (apparent) deep spirituality. Am a holistic doctor; have written a bit--such as Whole Life Times book reviews. Also some background in astrology, which seems an intermittent preoccupation. Consider myself essentially a Buddhist, but I have allowed myself to draw from a no. of different spiritual traditions, and I believe that "living religion" can only come from this kind of appoach. I loathe (perhaps too strong a word?) rigidity and straight-jacketing dogmatism. More later. Be well.
